Hi people, again in my quest of finding a bike.
I was looking a zx 9 and now due to some money problems i wont be able to get the ammount i needed. In the other hand my friend have got a zzr 1100 in good condition and wants to sell it grey 1989 ventura rack, 56k Kilometres.
Does anybody have any opinions or feedback on this bike?????

I appreciate your comments and past experiences very much thank you.

Totally different machines, so almost impossible to say which is "better".
I've been riding the ZZR1100s since they were first around (heh, spent some time on a ZX10 and GPz11 as well, so possibly even before they were around Wink) and they are fantastic bikes. As long as they are looked after they're capable of great mileage and very reliable (knew at least two lads on the distance circuit who despatched on the D model). Downside, they'll eat cushdrives and chains, plus side they're immensely comfortable and as long as you're not a small chap they will actually handle rather well once set up properly.
Given that it's a fairly old bike I'd not expect to be paying a huge amount for it, I paid 1150 for an H plate bike two years ago (and she's still running well apart from the exhaust finally giving up the ghost).

Well said Tarmacsurfer, i couldn't agree with you more Thumbs Up Funnily enough i sort of miss my ZX10 it had a lot of character and although the ZZR1200 is a lovely bike the ZX10 used to scare the crap out of me! aah the sweet smell of adrenaline in the morning Laughing The ZX9 is a lovely bike too but not in the same league as each other, one is a sports bike the other is a sports tourer. You have to decide what you want to do with the bike, you won't race on a ZZR unless you stick to the motorways! Sports tourer is a bit of a misleading term, the 1200 is a far more sorted bike but it struggles against a ZX6 in the twisties and is seriously hard work in the wet (149bhp + wet roads = oh shit!)
