Well, I've now watched this three times, inflicted on Mrs Borg and Master Borglet as a flimsy excuse.

I am now half convinced that I'm actually in some fevered fugue state at a convention, mind melding with a room full of hard core Trekkers who are trying to boldy and collectively visualise the most canonical fanfic film of which we can conceive.

I will nail my colours to the mast with a self-sealing stem bolt, and say that this is the best proper Trek since DS9. In that, I include and dismiss all the following TV frippery, and the J J Lensflare follies.

From beyond the galactic barrier, I hear Gene Roddenberry whispering "Preserve my legacy. Make it so."

The Borglets' university savings are being invested in the next round of funding. They'll thank me for it in 30 or 40 years.

I think the main thing is that they have permission to make the film but it has to be not for profit or something along those lines.
