I saw this on the bay and it sounded very interesting. I figured that with a KMX125 and a 200, I really shouldn't though!
It looks fantastic very well restored and I think the MTX200 is another awesome trail bike (albeit a rare one) with a 27bhp 193cc motor full of win and it should be so much of a laugh to hoon round town and trail on!
More pics are 100% required with the tank on! |

Yeh mate it's done to a high standard indeed
Couple of weeks and I should have it run in and ready for some trails..
Carb needs a little adjustment as it start to drop revs when it's warm on tick over!
Pulls really well for a old bike.
Hoping to get it mot next week and some decent tyres on there aswell!!
Cost me £1660 in the end once I got it delivered
Cheers

Awesome MTX .
I've fiited MCE 6 Days Extreme on my MTX 200.
110/80-18 at the rear and 80/90-21 at the front just fits perfectly .
Grip and traction offroad is stunning. Additionally these tires make the bike look even better. Maybe I can find a pic.

I like 6 days but they seem to disappear in no time on the tarmac. I would like to get a two stroke trail bike, rather than endure, something a bit less brutal and a bit softer for pottering rather than encouraging lunacy.

hi,
is that DEP exhaust a full system? or just end can?
& is it intended for the 125 or 200?
just curious, as i found that when i swapped out the 125cc lump for the atac 200cc engine, best "üpgrades" were fitting the bigger carb intended for the 200 (though im sure the smaller carb could be re-jetted to suit) + fitting a oem mtx200 expansion chamber. (end cans irrelevant afaic)
finding the carb + spanny took a while. try it.
guy i sold it to loved it also, + he used it off road (whereas i just commuted 10miles + went down the odd gravel track)
sill one of the few bikes i regret selling.....
if your ever looking for a replacement expansion chamber, gimme a shout, i forgot to give it to the new owner
cheers,

Sorry for the late reply
The dep is just the end can and I'm not sure on the expanny although the person who built it says it's for a 200 but to be fair I don't really know
It's running the stock carb with jetting etc to the book.
I've come across a problem well a real big problem
2nd gear is gone
Soon as I knock it into second gear I can't knock it up to third and as soon as I give it above 6k revs it drops into neutral then I have to work it through first then second again then into 3rd
Seems worse when first run (cold)
Changed oil etc
This bike is immaculate and it's not been badly treated basically a freshly built bike
Noticed the bike starts to bog at 7k so in guessing the atac has ceased or not working

Sounds like wear to the selector forks, its an engine apart job. Would have a look around, see if you can get the selector forks as a new-old-stock part from a Honda dealer. Its possible there could be damage to the gear cogs if it has been regularly jumping out of gear, so you may be looking for one or two of these.
It may be worth looking for another bottom end in good condition to swap out.
This looks to be a common problem on this particular bike, see here:
