Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me. I came off of the aforementioned motorbike going straight across at a roundabout in the wet, and I smashed my headlight lens plus a mirror. I have replaced the headlight lens and put it all back together only to find that my indicators no longer work.

I have noticed that there is a loud buzzing kind of noise coming from what I suspect is the indicator relay. Did I damage it in the crash? Or, have I just disturbed a wire behind the headlamp?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Timothy

Ah, I see. And what exactly are these "free connectors"? Sorry, I'm new to all this.

Cheers,
Timothy

Ah, ok. There are two of these in the headlamp bowl, and the wires going into them are connected up properly. I think I may have damaged the relay in the crash because it is giving off a very loud buzzing noise.

Sorry, there's more than two of them in there.

Hi all,

Just a quick update really. The indicator relay has now been ruled out as a suspect because I borrowed the relay off of my dad's '02 cg125 and it still made the same noises. Next possible cause is a short in the wiring from the switch to the relay, so it's just a case of finding the loose/damaged wire. I haven't ruled out the switch either though, I'm just hoping it isn't the cause Shocked

Cheers,
Timothy

Have you checked the indicator bulbs and the indicator idiot light? When my CG had disconected idiot light it made all the other indicators not work.

It could be that you have mixed some wires up when removing the headlight. Wires should usually be conected to other wires of the same colour.

Are all the other electric thing things working properly?

Hi there,

All other electrical components are working. I'm not sure about the indicator idiot light, I'll have to check that. All wires are connected up correctly.

Cheers,
Timothy

Hi all, another update me thinks....

After spending an hour or two on her today, I finally have my indicators working! The cause was the component that I should have checked first.... the fuse!!! I replaced it with a spare that I found on the bike behind the left hand fairing panel.

I FEEL SO STUPID NOW!!!

Cheers,
Timothy
