My insurance is due soon and Footpad James are wanting to screw me again.
My own fault I admit, as I've been slack and tended to just give em dosh and carry on for the last few years.
This time its gone up again and I've at last started to feel aggrieved.

Clean, full, car and bike licenses, no claims ever.
Shopping around I saw quotes for £50 less than what jessie fuckin james are asking the theivin no good bastards.
Customer loyalty my arse.

Anyway
I've been told that with the classic insurance I've had for 10+ years now
you don't/can't accrue NCD and I haven't found anything to confirm or deny this yet.
The quotes I got were for 0 years ncd but still much cheaper than FJ
who can go fuck themselves.

Am I right in assuming classic insurance = 0 ncd ?

TIA

You do not accrue NCB on a classic bike policy, well I've never accrued any on the several classic policies I've had.

My mate was with them for years with several modified vehicles on a policy, and he found out purely by chance last year that his modifications had been removed some time ago rendering his insurance worthless. He did nothing wrong except renewing his annual insurance without double-checking the mods were still listed.

I was with footman James as a classic bike policy for some six years,

Although you don't earn a NCD discount as the policy's are flat rated, you can ask for a letter stating the policy has run for X amount of years and no claims have been made, then approach another company to see if they accept this. I did this and it worked, although in this day and age of anything outside of the "box", it can be hard work as insurance brokers today aren't like they used to be, ie problem solvers rather than computer says no.....................................

Thanks chaps, some good points and suspicions confirmed.
I'm annoyed at myself for breaking the important rules of
trust no one, shop around and haggle.
Y'know?
I learned something today
If you dont shop around and haggle like a fishwife
they'll bleed you dry.

I may as well go into mainstream insurance and accrue NCD
as I only went classic for cheapness, not cos me bikes a minter.

Hi

Never heard of a classic policy that does give no claims, although there might be some.

I understand that Footman James have recently changed their actual insurance company and some of the T&Cs have changed which might make the policy far less useful.

However if you are a member of an owners club it can make a large difference. Knocked 1/3 off my policy from them.

All the best

Keith

Get some quotes before you do that.

I don't get NCD with my Carole Nash classic bike policy, or on my classic car, but they're so cheap it's irrelevant.

On the other hand, I've got full bonus on my normal car policy, so that just keeps going up.
