Hey guys this may seem a stupid question. After lots of searching online for a smaller main jet I keep coming across various types for different vehicles in the size I want, my question is can I use a jet from a truck/car etc for a bike carb or does it have to be designed for bike carbs only?

you need to find out what make/model of carburettor you have.

mainjets (and idle and others) are not standard sizes and types across different manufacturers and different models from the same manufacturer can have different jets.

Best get the part number and match that to to the other jets.
Tread est could be different.
