I'm looking at insuring a YBR 125. If I do it fully comp it's £1,000 + 850 excess or something nuts - which is worth more than the bike... TPO is £400 with £0 excess.

Just for a laugh I tried my mum's postcode in Cornwall - £380 fully comp... oh lawdy...

This explains why I see everyone posting such low insurance prices - it's not just them picking on me. I had no idea London was such an expensive place... maybe I should move back home - a journey that would probably take more than a week on said 125 :p

I used to be quoted £1200 FC on my SH300. Living in Bow, E3.

Now with 3 years NCB, 5 years riding, I can get FC for £350 on a bike worth £3500.

Still unlikely to claim unless it's a total loss, of course.

Ex 'Londoner' here (36+years, in Dagenham, Romford and Loughton), now living near Bath.
When I moved I got a 450quid rebate on my car insurance with only half the policy term left to run.
My ER6 is only £130 fully comp, that's mental when you consider I have zero bike no claims and only passed
my DAS this year. It's good being over 40 (Just..) My Audi S3 is under £300 a year full comp and that's
15 grands worth of car with a 155mph top speed. I was paying more than double that for a car
with half the power and a third of the value back in London.
I won't go back, it's only going to get worse there, our capital is fast becoming a massive slum.

I live in zone 3 and pay £360 TPFT+Commuting, with £300 excess. That, considering I commute, isn't too bad even if it is a 250cc.

I think the more central in London you are the higher the premium.

I live in zone 3 as well. When I was looking at 250's they were really expensive to insure, a 600 was actually cheaper Confused

Didn't realise you were a London fag too Shocked Ride out faggot.

But no, insurance closer to my work pushes prices up a whack. No idea why, aside from the burnt out cars and horrendous amount of traffic Laughing
