My daughter has been using Netflix until recently, claiming that the majority of the stuff she wanted to watch has now been seen....
So she's now asking about the movies / streaming programmes using Amazon Prime....??
How much recent stuff is available? Are there regular updates to their library etc? Basically, is it worth the outlay??

No, not worth the outlay at all.
Just get her to watch TV in a browser, use chrome and install Zenmate. Use that for US stuff and additional films.
