I am a criminal (for a few weeks)

I just received my new tax disk, because they have run out of the proper perforated ones they are printing them on plain paper and I am meant to cut it out.

Instead I have decided that I am just going to remove the old tax disk and holder and not put the new one on my bike at all.

Will be interesting to see if anyone notices before 1/10/2014 when I can legally remove it anyway.

I know someone who hasn't displayed a tax disc for over 10 years.

Hate to break it to you. Any tax bought before 1st Oct must be displayed until the end of the tax on the disk. So if you taxed your bike today, you have to display it until tuns out.

Had my bike eye'd up by the plod a short while ago, plate, exhaust and after a good few attempts got a 0.9mm reading on my rear tire.

No mention of a missing tax disk however...
Hasn't been on there for yonks and tbh its way out dated.

Do they actually prosecute people for not displaying these days?
With ANPR/A quick call over the radio its quicker than it would take to read the tax disk let alone MOT/Insurance info it would give...

Pretty ridiculous...

Haven't had a tax disc on a bike for about 3 years, no one's noticed yet, was pulled over without it on last year and they didn't even look
