What companies are people using for bikes with modifications?

My bike has a USD fork conversion so have to declare it.

Need to get some insurance tomorrow morning before an Mot, so don't have loads of time to ring up every company.

Was using Carole Nash but their quote is dissapointing this year.

Every year, when I start rattling out my comprehensive list of bits, Swintons tell me they only care about performance modifications which add power.

Like fuck I'd declare forks.

I won't be declaring the exhausts, nor the aftermarket screen, or the hand guards....

Endless list... would not bother.

Nice one, they'll be first on the list tomorrow.

Not sure about that dude!
I believe in declaring obvious or visible mods but nothing more.
For example my car doesn't have lumpy cams, adjustable pulleys, or a ported head, but does have a big exhaust, air filter and lots of silicone pipework, as they are the only bits you see when you look under the bonnet.

I would declare things like manifolds, throttle bodies, big intercoolers etc, but never an ECU re-map or internal engine mods and you'll never know they are there! Wink

Yeah I agree with that, if they can't be seen from the outside, the engine would have to be dissasembled to see tuning work etc. Which an insurance company wouldn't do.

Only thing I've declared is the non-standard paint job.

I also never stay with the same company but just use gocompare for a nice, cheap quote, and (relatively) quick and easy to do. But my bike isn't worth a huge amount (in cash terms), so I don't bother with all the bells and whistles.

Upside down, so all the fork oil drains out, innit.
