Behind a slow driver tonight on a city road. I chose a straight clear stretch of road to pass at about 32mph (indicated 35). The bastard swerved to hit me. No other cars about so Im sure he thought he would get away with it.. but if he done it with oncoming traffic Shocked

I sped off and did not see him again but rage induced many thoughts about what I should have done Twisted Evil

BCF, what would you do?

Twat his wing mirror off. If you both pull over, rodger his missus whilst he looks on with your foot up his arse.

Would have done feck all (though I would have been going faster to overtake).

Used to lose my rag with cunts but lately realised there's no point they will still remain a cunt while I may get another night in Police cells.

I'd wait for him and do exactly what I did to one cunt who was causing me problems before, pull up next to him at traffic lights, smack his wing mirror off and urge him to get out the car.

But yeah eventually you start losing the rage cause it happens so often you just won't have the energy to be angry lol. I'm more accepting of fuckwits in that sense now.

Escalate the level of violence to the point where you might trade your life against material damage? Not worth it.

Turn off at the next junction, let him go past, turn back behind him, follow discreetly at great distance, discover the address of his abode, wait a few weeks, dish out cold, heartless, fatal vengeance whilst remaining calm and methodical.

Then find out he only veered right to avoid a pothole? Confused

Overtake quicker in future. Don't resort to violence, it just makes them go for the rest of us all the more next time.

For the most part I wouldn't be overtaking in a 30 road anyway unless I am certain they are going straight on, but as mentioned there are too many pot holes, junctions, driveways and bad drivers on the road to make it safe.

If you look for reasons not to overtake, instead of chances to, you'll soon start realising how few times it is actually safe to overtake in a 30.

I would think that maybe he was avoiding something on the road, possibly a pothole?

I would also be less of a whiny bitch Wink

With no oncoming traffic, which one should you have been?

Plenty of twats out there. I probably wouldn't have overtaken in a 30 limit unless he was absolutely dawdling, and then I'd be thinking "why is he dawdling?". Could be looking for a turning, might suddenly stop to check his directions, might be on a mobile and therefore not paying attention. So then I still wouldn't overtake unless I could be 100% certain of his intentions. Sometimes, if it's clear behind, I'll back right off until he gets going/does manoeuvre/whatever. If he looks in his mirror, this gives him (hopefully) a firm indication that he's not going to get me if he's being deliberately twatish, or that he's behaving like a twat and I consider him unsafe, and then sometimes they start paying attention to their driving again.

He'd get plenty of abuse while he's in front behaving like a twat, a Paddington Hard Stare (cos I'm really 'ard, I am Laughing) as I pass, and forgotten about in the next minute when he's out of sight. Next twat please!

Personally I'd do what I usually do when someone puts me in danger on the road, pass the footage from my two cameras to the police and leave it to them to prosecute or otherwise put the fear of god up the twat, which they almost invariably do.

Cowardly, how so? Cowardice is when you don't report dangerous driving, or hide behind a pseudonym.

Also I think most coppers have better things to do then go round to people houses and charge them with driving offences based on grainy footage from someones Go-Pro.

Really? The Met Police have a department specifically set up to do precisely this.

Some exaggeration for provocative effect may be detectable. Wink

Perhaps: which is better, or worse, and why?

I see far too many "scrape past" overtakes, for no good reason. There's a whole other lane over there to be used.

I would have been through that huge gap between the bikes.

White one too close to the car.
Red one too close to opposite kerb.

Laughing

Only ever be the one nearest the car if you are nailing it and want to scare the feckers

I don't even think about this anymore. Hell, I even had an unmarked, police car swerve hard at me.

There were a few police outriders escorting a car down the A4 in the late afternoon in very early August.

There were a couple of police outriders so I pulled over to the slow lane to let the little convoy past. Simultaneously, a black range with two besuited white males in their late 30s pulled up alongside me in the middle lane. We were going pretty slowly, maybe 10, 15mph? The guy in the passenger seat waved at me (window was open) and I think he said, 'get back.' Difficult to tell.

A black jag whizzed by followed by a couple of outriders following in the fast lane and as the convoy had clearly gone by, I started to accelerate. The driver of the range threw the wheel over and I threw the bike at the pavement otherwise he would've hit me. He ended up in the slow lane whereas I ended up with the front wheel on the pavement.

The passenger again shouted something at me - this time he definitely said 'Get Back,' and they drove off. There was an LED sign in the back window stating 'Police.' I did not see any other indication they were police when they were alongside.

Personally, after 20 years of riding, I am not fussed at the occasional issue with idiots. Even the police have swerved at me.
