Flights have now gone up to £50, so if anybody is interested and hasn't booked yet I'd think about doing it soon...

How much are people going to take in euros for the 3 days? Confused

Also, can you use cash machines over there without being charged to do so?

I'd make sure to get your Euros commission free from the Post Office before you go, most places charge hideous rates to convert it over there.

Going on past trips I'm planning to take £250 or so. Depending on your bank and if you use an 'official' cash machine as opposed to a private one (petrol station type) you shouldn't be charged to take out cash, but worth checking with your bank.

Another thing you need to remember to do is make sure your mobile phone has European roaming enabled, a lot of the time it's off by default. Phone your mobile provider and get it switched on, then make sure you have everybody else's numbers stored in your phone with the leading 0 replaced with +44

Korn: Some newer phones do this automatically, when I went Rome last week I got there and it automatically connected to O2 Italy and I didn't even have to prefix my numbers to +44 it must have did it automatically. I don't recall anybody not getting a network over there. One thing I would advise is to ring up for lower international rates, for O2 it is about £2.50 for a month but instead of paying 93p to recieve a call it's 23p. Smile

95p per min to make a call and 60p a min to receive a call with Virgin Mobile according to their website and that they have interntional roaming enabled as standard.

Mmmm trip to the Post Office, that'll be fun. Doh!

So the list is: Me, Mark & Millsy my two mates, Ste, Smoto Bob & KMX Jon. If we aim to get checked in by around 13:30 on Sunday we can meet up in the airside departures pub at Gatwick, think it's called the Red Lion. My mobile number's in my profile if you don't have it, and if I don't have yours drop me a text.

See you there! Wink Dance!

I'll be there far too early (train from Reading to Gatwick leaves at 10:12 tomorrow Neutral ), will be somewhere around a pub on airside departures.

Now all I've got to do is start packing and find where I've put my passport. Rolling Eyes

Maybe the biking part isn't such a good idea for those considering it who don't want to be run over by trams or other dutch traffic.

Anyone interested I've put my photos online here having recovered them all after killing the camera somehow at the airport. Laughing

Amsterdam = Mr. Green , you want to go there as it's very good. Mr. Green
