Green crap on electrical contacts

So i'm in the middle of changing my ignition switch, but taking the old connectors off i see alot of green corrosion on the connecting terminal points. With limited resources and a new switch in hand....would you spray WD40 in the switch (loom side obviously)?

It's oxidised copper (see the statue of liberty) baking soda and water on a tooth brush will clean them up nicely.

Funnily enough once this switch is on, i'm off touring, haha.

In Pembrokeshire now, toothbrush trick worked a treat...and new switch is awesome.

Would ACF inhibit the conductivity of electric? I had problems with the bike the last couple of days cutting out - troubleshooted(yes I madeded that word up) it to the ignition switch - well kill switch specifically. £117 or £15 off eBay. It already works in ways my old one didn't. Cleaned the copper as best as poss, but would like to prevent it happening again.

Dielectric grease will keep the contacts from corroding further
and not affect their operation or be affected
by current .
