Well I'd avoid whatever ones were on the bike, 6! That's really bad.
Were they on their last legs?

The Maxxis Supermaxxx touring range are good and cheap, were great on my B12. I quite like the look of the Diamond ones too.

However, in my experience on pretty much any bike, you really can't go wrong with a set of Michelin Pilot Roads. I prefer the PR3s, but a lot like the PR2s also. The PR4 is out now, but I've not tried them yet so can't personally recommend.

The original pilot road is still a pretty decent tyre and about £143 a pair from M&P
https://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?catref=902643&tier1url=Tyres&tier2url=Tyre-Offers&tier3url=Michelin

They've got some good pair deals usually.

I always run pilot roads on my bikes as I do all weather riding. Which variant depends on my budget at the time but 2s were the best value for money in my opinion (dual compound and decent grip in the wet, and not much more than the originals.[/u]
