So I'm looking at getting a new laptop. Budget of £750.
Il be using it for some gaming, watching films and web browsing.
Prefer it to have a 15" screen as it's easier to carry about and a keyboard back light but that ain't essential.
I've been looking at novatech as I live 5 mins away and you can customise them.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Cheers

When you say you want it for gaming, do you game mostly at home?

What spec is your current laptop? have you concidered cpu + ram upgrades? (very rare you can upgrade graphics)

If it was me i would keep the laptop and spend the money on a reasonable tower for gaming at home then just back up/ transfer everything off the laptop to it and do a fresh os install,

anything needed can be put back on for use when away from home, laptops aren't meant for gaming realy and do better if used as intended for portable computing.

A decent tower will transcode video and stuff much better than a laptop too if you set up an ftp you can access all your files from the home pc on the go too (or use cloud or whatever?).

At least this way in a year or two you can upgrade your tower rather than have to buy another new laptop for gaming or because the laptop has cooked itself (common for chips to come loose when they get hot).

I run a xeon e5450 (equal to a q9650) +4gb and discrete graphics which games fine at home (soon to be 8gb) and an old hp 6910p upgraded to a t9300 @2.5ghz-2.7ghz and 4gb for when i am out and about,

You can pick up sandy or ivybridge i7 gaming pc's cheap enough now or even build your own for sub £750 (stretch to do a haswell build) which will obliterate any laptop on the market for gaming (most laptop i7's are ht dual cores not quads Wink )

my laptop only has onboard graphics but that is fine for the use it gets away from home can still upgrade to a t9500 @ 2.6-2.8ghz when the price comes down and have been told the chipset can handle 8gb ram.
