I recognise Richard Tandy, and I swear the percussionist is Mick Wilson and the bass player is Mike Stevens, both from 10cc (as they are today)

Dunno who the others are.

Holy shit he's back! And wow, BBC Orchestra backing him. Absolutely amazing. Hope he starts touring again, even if it's £100 a ticket I'd want to go and take some folks with me.

Yeah there was a BBC one, I had a Freesat box that I could pull recordings off of and I made a copy, it's probably knocking around somewhere among the terabytes of stuff I have across a bunch of hard drives, might be worth tracking it down.

Chris Evans said at the beginning that if Jeff enjoys this, he'll kick off a word tour.

Aye, my boss told me she heard it on the way in to work earlier this year and instantly went online and bought tickets - she told me when I got in at the start of my shift and they had sold out in 38 minutes.

I wonder if they'll play All Over The World, I mean it's from Xanadu and I think Jeff disowned that project at some point as is his wont but it's a psuedo-disco classic.

Did you hear what he said at the end of the encore? He basically said it was the best time they (he) ever had. I'm almost certain there's a world tour coming now, that's the closest I've seen Jeff Lynne to ecstatic. Wink

iPlayer version isn't right on the first song, it's all filmed from afar (long shot), single camera for "All Over The World", nothing like the red button. Seems fine after that, weird technical error on the editing or some such though, fixed by the time Evil Woman gets to the piano only part of the intro.
