Looked up their site the other day, along with a few others, as I'm looking to do a direct access course in the near future and trying to get an idea of prices, which seem to vary drastically from place to place.
However, they don't give a price for DAS on their website. I might give them a ring but, then again, I may not, as there are other schools that do give a price online. So I'll probably sound them out first. ____________________ There ain't no devil, there's just god when he's drunk.

Much praise for Valley Bike School in rossendale (they now have a second location in manchester) instructors are most ex police riders and are absolutely spot on.. I passed my DAS with these guys in 2009 and will recommend them to anyone.
Weirdly they have 2 websites...

Were absolutely fantastic. I've got CFS/ME and knew I wouldn't be able to safely do a full day of mostly clutch control exercises on a bike, or consecutive days, particularly with about a forever's worth of travel getting there, but they put together a training schedule that got me sortred. ____________________ Bandit. does. everything. |

Gavian Motorcycle Training.
Llecrhyd, Cardigan
Ian Stinton is a legend in these parts.
Got me and my two boys through CBT and me through DAS.
Honest about your riding and where you should improve, even seen him speaking to one of his past CBT pupils and giving him advice on where he was going wrong (bad habits picked up)

Rebel Dogg - Milton Keynes - https://rebeldoggmct.com
Another big training company in MK didn't return my calls to book a CBT, so I looked around and found Rebel Dogg. I'd never heard of them before but they have a nice big off road training area and they're close enough to home.
The only negative thing I could find about them was a post on here saying that they weren't clear on a deal they were running (only use mopeds not geared 125s). One of the reps responded to the post and resolved it well IMO.
Saw these guys were again offering a Groupon CBT deal for £59, seeing as it's for me and the gf, it's an impressive saving of £120, so after a friendly chat on the phone on tuesday we were booked in for thursday (yesterday). They have no restrictions on the Milton Keynes groupon deal, and I was immediately offered a 50cc ped or a geared 125 when I booked.
I had completed a CBT 4 or 5 years ago so it wasn't exactly new to me, there were 4 students, 3 of us were previous CBT holders, the other guy had some 'unofficial' road experience on peds. It's hard to directly compare their teaching with my first CBT, as that was with a lot more people and some kids (16 year olds) who had absolutely no road experience, so my first CBT day was arguably more 'long winded'.
Obviously I can only speak for the Milton Keynes site, and Wesley the instructor. The site is good - porta-cabin for the classroom/paperwork bits, closed off section of a car park for the practical training (plenty of room, good enough surface), it's on the same industrial plot as the indoor go-kart track, you can use their toilets and they sell pizza for lunch (also a sandwich shop on site). Wesley is a fun guy, knows his stuff and happy to answer questions etc.
One of the lads took it on a ped (by choice), but had said he was picking up a 125 geared the next day (today), so after we'd all done our road rides and all passed, he gave the kid some extra time to help him learn gears - top bloke.
The CBT bikes were YBR 125's (no idea about the peds), I don't know how new they are, but they were in great condition, brakes/clutch/gears all felt good. DAS are kawasaki gladius's.
They are currently working on getting an indoor training area setup by the gokart track, so people can train during the winter. ____________________ Just getting started |
