Just seen this now as well, remember the other one on the bike up in the mountains and they rode off whilst one had a gun and the other a machete?

I'd just give them all my shit, who cares about a backpack.

And several K worth of camera stuff, and hard drives with footage of adventure up to that point, the whole point of the trip, it would seem.

Moral of story: don't travel with what you can't afford to lose, and keep online backups!

I realise that he had expensive gear on him but it's replaceable. When some guy with fuck all to lose is pointing a gun at you, I'd give them anything they wanted, stuff is just stuff.

Still don't know why the robber didn't just shoot him in the face.... must have been a water pistol or something

Sort of this.

I think at the point where he's waved a gun around and put it away again in case anyone sees it, you could kind of get a feel for the fact he wasn't ever going to use it, even if it was usable to start with.

That said, would I put my balls on the line? Guess not, but maybe if I'd had my brave pills.

Talking of brave pills - I'd have made sure he didn't manage to get off that motorcycle without a hell of a struggle. He's much less of a threat with that thing to worry about keeping upright close to his nadgers

the guy was shit scared of anyone seeing the gun, nevermind hearing him fire it... and clearly police are dotted around the area as he doesnt have to go far to find one..

Also, the gun looked a very light grey, often blank firing handguns are made from this type of "monkey metal" not the usual gun blue id expect from a revolver.

Not sure what id of done, he didnt really present an opertunity to snatch the gun, so the guy did the best thing imho.
Id like to say id have a go at grabbing the gun, but it all depends on the scenario i guess.

Yeah alright then, you would try and grab a gun out of some guys hand who's speaking in a language you don't understand whilst being highly erratic?

All well and good rewinding a video on the internet several times but in the heat of the moment, most people would shit themselves.

It’s his fault for failing to be prepared. He could have had a small package of thermite in the rucksack and a remote detonator in his pocket. After the crim has fallen off his bike, calmly walk over and ‘help’ by stamping out the flames on his back.

Most people dont have firearms training..

If you actually read what i posted, i stated that he did the right thing by putting distance between him and the attacker as he didnt present an opertunity to obtain the firearm as it was always held close to his midsection, i also said depending on the scenario i would try grab the firearm, not, i would try ninja it out of his hand and be a hero. Thumbs Up

Should have run in a big circle, then when back at the start, jumped on the guy's motorbike and made a proper escape Wink
