My indicators are big chrome lollipop like things on rubber stalks. I had an open circuit in the right rear, so I took the lens off, wrestled the bulb out and then took the left rear lens off, only to have a load of water pour out. Some pissing about later and the right started working again.

How would I go about sealing my indicators against such water ingress?

Is it safe to smear a little coppaslip on the bayonet socket to aid removal and prevent corrosion?

I'd just drill a small hole in the bottom of the indicator. Any further water ingress will then just run out.

Looking on CMNSL there should be some kind of gasket between the lens and the indicator housing. I know on the CM125 they have rubber ones, having had a problem with a rear indicator due to it being missing and water getting in.

I have the gaskets in. Not sure if they seal perfectly. What isn't sealed is the inside of the indicator stalk, wondering if water sprayed at the fender runs down the indicator cables through the inside of said stalks.

Is there some kind of recommended sealant that won't bond so tight I can't get the indicators open ever again?

Will drill the two scummiest indicator bodies, am still trawling for reasonably priced replacements for the right hand side, but shuffling the two rights to the rear to experiment with drilling holes in the meantime is no further loss if I mess up. How big a hole, about 3 mm?

Big enough so it doesn't get blocked by crud that comes in with the water. You could also use clear silicon sealant on the cable entry.

The quick cheap fix would be some aluminium tape, wouldn't show up to much against the chrome and just put it round the joint that you suspect is the problem. Wouldn't look great though, but should give an idea of if it is where the water is getting in.
