My bike (Shiver) went in last week to have the clutch fixed, which they did just fine and without charge as I'd only bought it from them the week before.

I picked the bike up after hours tonight (couldn't get there earlier due to work). It had a "Made in Italy" stuck to the tank, where a tank pad would go. Maybe 1.5x3" in size. It was crappy and I don't like stuff stuck to my bike (that goes on the top box!) so I peeled it off when I got home. There's a new scratch under it, down to the undercoat. it's not a big scratch and the bike has quite a few already (which I used as a point to get the price down a bit) so it's not the end of the world; and if they hadn't put a sticker over it, I probably would never have noticed it was a new one. I've not even had the bike long enough to wash and learn the current ones yet!

I'm a bit on the tamping side not so much that it's been scratched, but that they tried to hide it (and with a shit sticker, too).

As I was taking photos of my dodgy rack building efforts on Sunday before it went in to them, I happen to have a couple which included the tank and you can see there's no marks on it then.

What approach do I take when I see them on Thursday to pick up my other key?

Would it be hidden by putting a tank pad on there?

if so, blagg a free tank pad off them

Doubtless got scratched by the monkey that "tested" your clutch by Paddying it up and down the road.

Because no tank pad.

So yes, get tank pad.

Went in, spoke (nicely) to service manager, he went off to workshop and came back and said that the mechanic said the sticker fell off my topbox, and that he stuck it back on the tank by accident. So now the service manager knows he's got a lying whatsit working for him, and I've got a free tank pad Wink

They did say mention it next time and they'd sort me a decent discount on work... I said chances are, there won't be a next time with their workshop...

Took my bike in for something mending on warranty and ended up with a big scratch/crack in my speedo glass. You cant feel it if you run your finger over it and it hasn't got any worse.
They said mechanics didn't do it and they always own up if the have an accident and it must have cracked on its own.
Now I can believe they crack in cold weather(this was in January) but it never had a crack when I took it so surely they should have stored it somewhere warmer? If they do crack in cold weather then isn't that a warranty issue? because surely they should be made of better stuff.
But tbh I think they probably scratched it somehow but I cant prove it one way or the other.
Anyhow they fobbed me off and wouldn't mend it.I lost the heart to battle it out and go higher up and just said" if it gets worse i'll bring it back"
Now I go somewhere else and pay a 1/3 the hourly rate.
