Hornet but as you don't say what it's for or anything that is purely based on the fact that I like the Hornet while I think the bandit 1200 is a mobile midlife crisis.

What the bike is going to be used for?

Personally I would buy a Hornet rather than Bandit any time.

Hi

To an extent depends on what you want from the bike.

I have a 1200 Bandit and would go for that.

Hornet build quality is probably a bit better, Bandit more crash resistant. Hornet seems to have a marginally lower seat height. Bandit power delivery a lot lazier (or you can tune them easily and have a lot more power). Bandit has a decent range.

All the best

Keith

In that case the Bandit for the extra grunt. However the Hornet would be infinitely more fun if you were on your own...

Hornet - handles better, lighter, around the same power (possibly more) but less torque.

What do you have at the moment and why do you need to change?

Re: crashproofing, I smashed up my Hornet several times and the forks, wheels and frame all remained straight.

Toss a coin, heads 600, tails 1200. Before looking at the coin, which one did you wish it would come up?

Choose the one you like. I found Hornets to be small, but bandits to be boring.

Me, I'd choose neither and be looking for a Thundercat.

I base that on only knowing 1 person who has one. He is in his 50's, only brings it out on sunny days and tries to use it as a talking point to chat up girls young enough to be his daughter

I love Hornets but if I had the room I'd probably have the 1200.
Just too big and heavy for me to get in and out of the back garden easily though.
They are two very different machines, so only you can know what you want from a bike.

I am safe then, I am 50 and like more Hornet. Do like talking with girls though is that a problem Smile

That reminds me Playstation vs Nintendo Wii debate. Hornet is light and peppy and B12 vibrating feature has been disabled Laughing

"Evil handling"? Really? Pray tell...
