This one, in fact:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201404033031986/

Feels just right in terms of seating. Comfy. Mods are all very tasteful. Never ridden a Fazer 1000 with non-risen bars but whatever has been done here works well! (They are angled also). In remarkable condition for the age so has clearly been very well looked after.

Can is lovely and burbly (road legal, with removable baffle).

Needs a bit more revving than the B12 to get into the fun spot, but still loads of grunt there. Certainly feels lighter and easier to shift about.

Certainly giving it a lot of thought.....!

+1

There are usually better priced bikes on FOC-U.

Edit: Just noticed this was Platinum, was the engine warm when you got there? Wink

Do you need to start a new thread every time you think of a bike???

I'm sure future readers would be interested in your comparisons and opinions on each bike but it would be easier to find if they were all one thread.

You started a hello ex b12 rider thread, then test ride today thread, now a fazer 1000.

Fazer thou seems to be one of the ultimate do everything bikes. I think that example looks a little expensive, and I found them quite expensive to insure for some reason. Great bikes though for sure. Cool

But it has heated grips! thats gotta be atleast £15-£20 value!

They worked as well Wink Taking on board the price comments that have been made though.

Taking a look at a SV1000S later that has come up. Suspect caveat emptor will apply strongly as the dealer in question was featured in a thread on here recently (P&P Motorcycles in Chichester). £1995 for an 03 model with 32k on the clock, in I suspect 'fair' condition... we'll see.

£8.19 delivered from China in about a week. Wink

They work surprisingly well once I figured out that "II" was the cool and "I" was the hot setting. Number 1 is very top best.

Can get one with half the mileage for that if you go private.

Tell you what, go buy a B12...

No they aren't, both budget as hell and both have "SV" written on them.

One is boring and linear.

One is linear and boring.

The TL is better by far.

To you and me Paddy maybe they will seem boring due to riding style, I'm sure OP might like it.

Probably, he liked his bandit 12, which in my mind says he should buy another one.

Like it!

Tried the following at P&P Motorcycles. Worrying element was that pretty much all had dead batteries until jumped.

Sprint ST 995 - 2000W, 27k. Liked this. Fun. Good seating position. Sounded great. Handled well. Issue was that this particular one cut out at junctions. Seems to be a known issue on the Triumph forums, and easily sorted, so the issue here was more a bike for sale did that. Heated grips didn't work either. Their price: £2.3k

Fireblade CBR900RR - 1999T plate, 16k mileage. Not on their website. Cat C or D write-off (tank damage, covered with protector). This was fun! I think the riding position would be a bit much for me long-term but really enjoyed it. This one didn't randomly stop at junctions so that was good too Wink Their price: £2k.

SV1000S - Not going to put any specs about this one as it bored me to death. Also sounded too much like a tractor.

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 11 years, 98 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
