Windows 7 to Apple TV 3

I want to stream a MKV from my w7 laptop to a stock Apple TV 3.

I can't Jailbreak it, I don't want to put the box at risk from someone else fucking it up.

Any ideas, or info on howto, would be awesome.

Can't remember if its in the supported types list? I installed one in a school recently and they had a copy of something that wouldn't stream, only one was an mkv?

You probably know more than me in that department, but assume converting would ruin the file?

You can still stick Plexconnect on it apparently and use Plex. I looked into it and realised it was a lot of fooking about so got one of those NowTV boxes for a tenner as well. Hardly used that either.

Why don't you want to jailbreak it? Then you could install xbmc on it and plex if you wanted.
