600rr or C1h + 03/04 R1

Hi All

The GSXR finally packed in and has been moved on to someone else.

I am currently considering a CBR600RR or a ZX6R C1h. Any thoughts by owners?

Which one should I be looking at to get my monies worth? going to try and trawl the internet all over winter and if one comes up at a good price going to grab it, but not in a rush.

My GSXR didnt seem to be reliable and the fittings seemed to be made of wax! Are both these a lot more solid and reliable?

Also just saw the R1 with the mars bar style tail light.... 03/04 - I know there are some R1 gurus on here so thoughts would be great.

Any insight appreciated!

R1 for sure.

CBR600RR was far too linear and revvy.

Never ridden a Ninja, but if I was going down the 600 route, Daytona 675 would be my choice.

I had an 01 R1, was great, wouldn't mind an 03, however king of kings is the K5/6 GSXR1000

I am really not a fan of Suzuki anymore. The build quality just didnt feel there.

Plus I really like the mars bar light on the R1.... May look at a 675 too!

Fireblade will be just as upsetting as the 600RR except you get a 1000 badge.

depends on your budget ive written to many reviews on R1's here so just type in Yamaha R1 review in the search button.

02-03 R1 should cost between £2800-£3200 (mars bar led light one)
(I personally prefer the 98-01 carbed version as its more aggressive)

04-06 £3800-£4200
great bike but under seat storage space is a joke and the fast idle stays on far too long, but it handles great and

personally of those two R1s the 04-06 looks better but the 02-03 has great grunt from 4k rpm whereas the 04-06 only really has grunt from 8k rpm onwards.

if you can stomach suzuki again, as Paddy has said get a gsxr 1000 k5/k6 but these are £4200-£4700
whereas the gsxr 1000 k3-k4 is £2800-£3400

in terms of grunt from 1k rpm and underseat storage the gsxr 1000 pisses all over the R1's

im still getting used to the grunt of the gsxr 1000 k4 as i have just sold my 2007 R1 which didnt wake up till 9k rpm

I have no user knowledge of the other bikes you mentioned so cant comment on those
