Hello all, thanks in advance for reading the topic.
Basically, I purchased a Suzuki Intruder 125 earlier on this year. The bike seemed to be running fine prior to purchase, the guy started it up first time and rid it round etc. I remember him saying "sometimes the bike doesn't tick over, just leave it for a while then it's fine" I didn't really think much of this as I wasn't quite sure of what he meant.
CBA to read full synopsis:
Bike starter motor goes, but never "catches on".
Battery charged, sparks changed, idle speed adjusted.
More detail:
I had been riding the bike for a while and had no problems with it. I parked up left the bike for a while and when I came back to it, it just wouldn't start. Earlier on I had sprayed the bikes carb area with WD40, in the attempt to clean it (I have no idea if this effects anything or is even a contributing factor). Other than that, there's nothing else that could be an impacting factor.
The bike only starts occasionally or when warm.
The starter motor goes and with quite a bit of power, however nothing happens and it can be going for a good while. I did notice at one stage smoke/steam? coming out from the battery whilst trying to start it, but I heard that trying to start it usually does burn the battery out if done excessively. At one stage I charged the battery, increased the idle speed and cleaned the sparks and like magic the bike started up perfectly, and for a good few days. At this point I thought it was the spark plugs so I changed them and again the results where successful, however only for a while.
Now it seems that every day the bike refuses to start first time, and only occasionally it does. Can anyone help at all. Thanks so much in advance! |

Workshop section, like you were told last time you asked this question or one much like it. I don't really know, since as you can't be arsed figuring out what section to post in even after being explicitly helped to find it, I'm not going to bother reading your post.
I hope this reply was helpful to you. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
