been offered one rediculously cheap, 1993 model.

50k on the clock, good condition. Needs new exhaust downpipes and rear shocks, maybe fork seals.

can anyone shed any light on these bikes?

I want to budget about £350 for those parts.

Thing is, the downpipes are impossible to find. Does anyone have any sort of idea where i could source a pair?

If not, any idea what kind of pipes would fit with modding.

I'm quite happy to have four seperate exhaust pipes if it means the headers all fit correctly.

How cheap is cheap.

I always believe that unless you spend 1k on a bike, its never going to be a decent reliable one.

With the £350 you budget, that would mean the lowest I would pay is around £700 and it would have to be in a decent condition.

If not, save the £350 and add that to the price you were going to buy a bike for.

But, if cheap is free...

paying 300 for it. So basically the cost of a couple of sets of tyres. Laughing

its running, and he's bringing it to my door next week. So bargain in my eyes....

if they are reliable, id like to use it as a hack/work horse Very Happy

Gets you dis Wink

However, I just don't trust such old bikes. They probably go on forever but being a hack, I'd want some balls backing me up, rather than some aged bike, you know Mr. Green

You could buy my triple, £350, then £350 for the next 24 months.

Do your tyres display "700c" anywhere on the sidewalls?

Fork seals £20 DIY Honda parts
Rear Shocks Hagon or rebuild circa £150-200
Downpipes - You're fooked- Repair or Zorst make em for about £400

I'd personally check it holds gears changing up...........

Stick £600 in the pot it's all possible but that's probably on the border of repairs/purchase price total value depending on what you're paying.
