Race scrubbed tyres, Good, bad or ugly?
I was thinking about getting some bt102ss's for my hornet, as they use them for the hornet cup there are some cheep scrubed tyres on offer. I've been offered two rears in "very good condition" for £50, thats better than £100 for a new one!
WIll they be ok on the hornet for road and some track day use?
Thanks
J

Depends on how hard they've been 'scrubbed in'

I wouldn't personally take pre-used tyres, especially for my bike. But the price does sound good though.

A friend of mine uses super corsas that have been round the track a few time for his GSXR 600, never had any problems with them and saves a few ££

I used to use Super Corsa race scrubs which were £80 from local tyre shop fitted to loose wheels, no problems just don't pust them much in the wet and they take longer to warm up. Got a fair amount of miles, a few thousand out of a pair.
