hi, i've been riding a sinnis spirit 125 for a few months. while it's been fine during the day i can tell that as the days are getting shorter that the headlights on it are not the best.

does anyone have any advice on what would be a good 125 to get for winter commuting ,doing about 30 miles a day? I'm hoping to pay less than £1500

thanks Smile

Getting a better bulb would be a lot cheaper than a whole new bike. Idea

If you want to go brand-name, Osram Night Breakers seem to get seats pretty moist.

As stated above upgrade the bulb, you need BA20D cap size bulb.

Note do NOT try to use more then 35W bulb or you risk damaging your headlight housing or worst (fire, plastic housing damage etc.). They do not do Osram Night Brakers in BA20D size anyway. However there are other CAR bulbs sized in BA20D size wth higher wattage. Do not use them Very Happy

I must have murdered so many kittens in order for the housing not to melt on the 2 Chinese bikes I put 55W bulbs in.

I'm guessing roger butchered an entire cattery

I've been using the brighter 'white' bulbs for a while now, nothing pricey, just ebay cheapies - although not huge, it does make it a bit better riding in the dark IMO. Either way; new bulbs/light unit has got to be less hassle than a new bike I would of thought Razz

Anything is better than fitting some super-power HID kit that turns the bike into a mobile-lighthouse that blinds everyone else on the road Whistle

My Varadero came with useless BA20D's, but I replaced them with Bi-Xenon HID's (after spending good money on 'brighter' filament bulbs that only lasted a couple of days).

They are rated at 35 watts each, but run cooler than filament bulbs as they produce more light than heat.

Still going strong (and passing MOT's) 6 years later.
