NGK BR9ECS is the one you want for an NSR125, buy a couple of them to keep one as a spare, and incase one doesn't work.

*shrugs*

That is what is specified by Honda so is what most people use, that plug may be too hot etc for the bike. Considering they only cost about £3 it is not that much of a problem to change it for the correct one.

I searched on gear4bikes for that sparkplug, and it looks like it is meant for a Kawasaki AR80 or AE80.

Quite possibly does for a while. That is a hotter plug and will increase the temperature in the combustion chamber. Possible that under abuse it will do nasty things to the piston (such as burn a hole in it).

All the best

Keith

Generally best to use the one specified by the manufacturer. In this case, as had already been said, yes - BR9ECS.

the standart is BR9ECS or BR10ES , but they are poor and often wrong (even new) . i recommand to fit BR9EIX for cold weather or usely short trips and BR10EIX for hot weather or motorway trips . i put on mine BR9EIX from october to march-april and the BR10EIX in the other part of the year . this is usefull to check twice a year your adjustments . the other bonus is a reduced fuel consumption by 1/2- 3/4 L on each full tank and an acceleration more linear . https://www.sparkplugs.co.uk price £6.84 ex VAT each , delivery 2 days
