"Three individual color schemes: Basic color, “Style 1” and “Style 2.”"

Laughing

Does look tempting... but... well BMW.

    1. Classic flat-twin boxer engine with 92 kW (125 hp) at 7,750 rpm and 125 Nm (92 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm.

    2. Dynamic-looking, compelling roadster design.

    3. Torsionally rigid tubular steel bridge frame with engine as self-supporting element.

    4. Classic wheel suspension concept using upside-down telescopic fork at the front and EVO Paralever at the rear.

    5. New intake air duct and central radiator for ultra-compact front silhouette.

    6. Upright seating position with front bias for a dynamic riding sensation combined with excellent seating comfort for longer tours.

    7. Restyled exhaust system in pentagonal design.

    8. Automatic Stability Control (ASC).

    9. “Rain” and “Road” riding modes.

    10. Riding mode Pro offering two additional riding modes, “Dynamic” and “User”, for optimum adaptation to prevailing riding conditions as an exworks option.

    11. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) as part of the Riding mode Pro option.

    12. Latest-generation Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) as an option for optimum riding dynamics in any situation.

    13. Powerful braking system with radial four-piston callipers and ABS.

    14. Lightweight 10-spoke cast wheels.

    15. Gear Shift Assistant Pro for fast, clutchless shifting as an ex-works option.

    16. Sophisticated instrument cluster offering a wide array of functions and wealth of information.

    17. Keyless Ride for supreme ease of use as an ex-works option.

    18. Innovative colour scheme with three individual characters: Basic colour, “Style 1” and “Style 2”.

    19. Extensive range of optional extras and special accessories available exworks.

Dash looks respectable,

Nice, but hard to even think about this when you could have the NineT in my opinion.

Also, devastatingly disappointing looks compared to the Concept - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WO2kZf8YcuE

I know they are always a bit different, but this looks like the old 1200R to me!

I like it. I'm not sure BMW are bothered about people comparing it to the NineT or S1000R - it's aimed at a different market to both of those bikes. It's not cheap though..

I guess comfort will be key in making it a winner as on paper the performance is decent for the type of bike.

With a bigger screen it's a do it all bike for those who don't want to look like Charlie boorman, I quite like it...

Ultra compact front silhouette? It still has those cylinders sticking out right? Laughing
It's most likely a nice bike, but those pictures aren't really grabbing my attention. I'd like to see it in the flesh, and hear it with that akrapovic pipe in the first pic. Thumbs Up

Yes, but that won't collect hubcaps like scalps if you try filtering on it, will it? Tut Tut

The boxer doesn't make a lot of sense on paper, but then neither does an Enfield; you'd have to ride it to see if it makes you feel boss.

I wonder how often the "rain" mode will ever get used. Whistle

Sorry but this enrages me. WHY THE FUCK HAVE A SINGLE SIDED SWINGARM AND PUT THE EXHAUST ON THAT SIDE?

AFAIK there are 2 benefit of a SS Swingarm.

1 Easier rear wheel Removal.
2 Looks

Putting a giant exhaust in the way nullifies both of these.

Thinking touring mentioned and I see a distinct lack of weather protection. Touring on a naked bike, I guess that's GS territory Wink

Not for me, not at this time.

Not sure if serious, but neither will the R1200...

Considering the heads are in near enough the same position as your knees, and narrower than the bars Wink

Near enough, accepted.

Often said, but (not sure if serious) have you looked at the shape of cars?

https://blog.gigmama.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/traffic.jpg

Buses and trucks and such change that equation, but you can often get the bars through gaps that lower down parts won't fit through.

I put crash bars on the Enfield recently. They're narrower than the handlebars, and "near enough" as wide as my knees, but they do limit filtering. Crying or Very sad

don't they help you 'bounce' between the cars?

Sorry excuse my ignorance but what is TL:DR? Does it stand for "too long:don't read" or something?
