So I got an exhaust slip on for my bike and it's far too loud (probably get stopped at some point) - I don't wanna be stopped, I want a loud exhaust but not an obnoxious exhaust. Anyway..
I got a cheap 8 inch universal baffle off eBay, drilled/tapped the exhaust to accommodate for the bolt and used some washers to get it centered so it sits snug in the middle,
It's the only baffle I could find for cheap that would fit the exhaust, but the problem is that it doesn't seal it properly. I have about a 0.5cm gap all round the baffle from where it sits in the center of the exhaust. How can I seal this gap securely without having to weld a metal ring there?
It obviously doesn't do a very good job of keeping it quiet atm, but if I fill that gap it'll sound quieter (tried it with some tape just to see and it seemed to work a treat)
Thanks.
edit: cba to take pic so here is shitty paint pic

its only 5mm, nothing major.
Wrap something round the baffle to fill the gap. 10mm strip of steel/aluminuim sheet, aluminuim foil or even newspaper/bogroll |

I have done something similar to this by stripping the insulation off some electrical 'twin and earth' wire, wrapping it around the outside of the tube, then sealing it with solder. You only need to solder the wire to itself, not to the tube - then you can always knock it off if it doesn't work.
Or you can get 'exhaust bandage' from a car accessory shop for £cheap that would do the job. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)
