My old man was a member, riding a Triumph Trophy TR6 (of The Great Escape fame with Steve McQueen).

Anyway, these are two poems he wrote to his mate in 1956 when they were serving in the RAF.

Ode to the Vello Fellow (his mate's nickname).

The Vello Fellow is feeling low,
his once fast bike is now so slow.
In disgrace it lies in dock,
with the needle at zero upon the clock.
But soon I'm sure his blood will tingle,
once more to the howl of that mighty single,
with throttle wide, exhaust a-blaring,
two demon eyes through goggles staring.
He'll burn that road, won't count the cost,
nor look behind or all is lost.
But though he'll fight to get that ton,
with a heap like his it can't be done.
Buy a bike that's not so slow,
get a Triumph and go man go!

and...

The Vello Fellow reigns supreme,
he's done the magic ton.
He fought the battle with the clock,
and proved it could be won.
But though he crows upon his roost,
the time will come, and then,
the 110 Kid takes the road,
and burns him up again.
He'll climb down from his lofty perch,
surrender to The Kid,
and take his proper place once more,
back marker on the grid.

The old man used to ride with an RAF sheepskin pilot's jacket and a pair of WW2 Luftwaffe pilot's boots. Geezers, lol.
I'll scan some pics in at some point. Possibly.

I've never heard of the 'Cafe Racers Union' and in fact the only reference I can find to it is in this thread, any more information?
