points question?

I have a mate who is about to sit his class 2 he has 3 points on his licence from speeding in his car. Question if he passes class 2 then gets 3 more points does he have to redo class 2 because he will have 6 points in first 2 years or would he have to get 6 more points. He asked me before and i really didn't have a clue. Thanks

It's from your first full licence. So if he has had his car licence over 2 years, it won't apply and he will need to total 12 points for a ban.

2 year thing only applies to when you first get your license, not when you add entitlements to it
