Mothers after a tablet thing.

Any suggestions on good for money ones available currently?

She'll just be using it for youtube, few photos of her cakes that she makes and surfing.

Nothing taxing in the slightest.

The Tesco Hudl is generally well-regarded, from what I've seen.

The hudl2 has just been released. Looks good for the money and a bargain if you can get it with club card points.

Thumbs Up This ^^^

Was looking at one earlier today in the store. They look good value - 8.3" HD screen, front/rear camera, etc... Only £129 and with club card boost doubling up your points value it's a steal.

The Touch screen on my missus Huddle is terrible. I wish I'd plumped up a few extra quid and got her something better.

the Hudl2 I was playing with earlier seemed to have a nice touch screen. Maybe they sorted it on the new one.

Hudl 1 (mine) is OK on touch screen and seems well made/ robust after 1 year of use but the wi-fi sensitivity is cr*p, total cr*p. I hope Hudl 2 is better

Anyone got experience of the cheap chinese ones for similar circumstances.

Less surfing, more aeroplanes.
(So GPS would be ideal, but most of the cheap ones don't have it.)

Ideally want 9/10".

If she gets on with it, will look to a better one, but wasn't impressed by the smart phone.

Yes, a few people at work have tried Chi-pads. They were all utter utter shit. Stuffed in the bottom of drawers or used as coffee trays after a few days

i might have said the kindle fire, had one nearly a year, used daily.
wifi perfect...( can hear it logging on as i get home.. Cool

only down side is it needs a tiny bit of understanding to get the most out of it... not ideal for anyone who wants full plug n play out of the box, so to speak..(imho)

did see that hudl 2 in store...bloody good for an 8" screen
touch screen worked well when i tried it.

I use a Pipo M6 pro. Had it for a fair while now. Can't fault it, battery reads a bit oddly but lasts for a fair while in actual use.

While we're on the subject - has anyone used any of the 'car tablets'.
Guessing the recording isn't up to much and without that, it doesn't really offer much to justify it's self.
(I would quite like the reversing camera option for the lorry - as the one it was broken when I got it and while I've done ok so far, it'd speed tight parking up.)

Dunno how good or whatever. If you search for the new Tesco customer code, you can knock about £15 off.

Doesn't work - already tied that a few hours ago Smile.
