OK, so this isn't your first post but it smells a wee bit spammy to me. As you associated with the company in any way?

If not Thumbs Up for letting us know

Was planning to head down in the morning, this post/advert may have been better placed in the south west region group.

Having worked on Churchfields, I know they won't be getting much in the way of passing trade, so they will need all the luck they can get.

I hope it works out for them Thumbs Up

Nothing to do with them so not 'spammy' just genuinely wanted to wish them all the luck & hope they do well. Not many people want to take a leap these days & not everyone can afford to buy new leathers!
Hearing from young kids just wanting to get on 2 wheels & not being able to afford reasonable kit, considering you lose 3mm of skin at only 10 MPH, I think it a good push in the right direction.
Not every one can be positive but that's their opinion. Rolling Eyes
As for passing trade, being open on a Sunday made a difference!
Thanks anyway.

I can't help but be negative.

I imagine it'll be as rubbish, overpriced and unhelpful as everything else within a decent radius of Salisbury.

If you need anything to buy, to fix to mot, I go out of salisbury as even after fuel cost and time spent, i'm still always better off going to Bristol or London.

I'd like to be proven wrong but I doubt it'll happen

No, its more like 1mm skin per 10mph. 30mph will remove the full thickness from knees, arms and the inner bit of the ankle. in my experience... Embarassed

No idea about the its underneath skin, assume fleshy bits are similar, bone probably worse.

Went there today. Guy running it seems passionate about it and the 2nd hand stuff they were selling was keenly priced. Not sure/have doubts about its long term viability though its a bit hidden away and starting this time of year is going to be tough.

Still best of luck and thanks for all the coffee and cake. Thumbs Up

Not really. 6 previous posts, a belated disclaimer of interest, and this isn't a court of law, there's no need to assume innocence.

It's not that we're not nice, we just get a lot of people trying to flog or promote their shite on here, so much so that it tends to get peoples backs up if it does resemble spam in any way.

Going off wr6133's visit, it seems like it could be a nice place though. If it is your shop, keep it up Thumbs Up maybe sort out some discounts for BCF, I guarantee they'll be nice then! Mr. Green

I am a good guy, i didn't accuse you or rate your post as spam. I simply conveyed my feelings about local bike business as I see it.

Salisbury is a bad place to be if you are not a mechanically minded biker.

A 303 after market filter locally will cost me a tenner, i can buy a genuine honda one for a couple of quid less than that in Bristol or half the price online including delivery, my tyres i buy at micheldever or protyre in bristol, including ride in fitting for less than i'd pay in local shops and then they want to charge fitting and me bring it in on a day to suit them and leave it for the day, leaving me unable to work.

A clutch cable wasn't too badly priced except it was out of stock, would have to be ordered and I had to pay a fiver for it to get there.
Buying it online, for less or from MR mororcycles, again, in bristol.

A pair of seat springs, i phoned that place i met you at, double the price i could (and did) buy them from online, and again, no stock so either way i would be waiting for delivery but since i wanted 8 springs I saved £48 by getting them online.

Locally, there is huge scope for improvement, until something does improve, i'll be sceptical about a new place opening and assume it'll be as bad as what is currently here.

As a general rule of thumb, I don't usually take recommendations from people with nicknames such as LoonyBird...

Its a bit

I went in today for a nosy.

It's not a dealer but most parts etc can be got next day, i asked for a couple of random prices for stuff I use, like oil filters and they are competitive.

It's worth popping in and saying hello and grabbing a coffee if nothing else.

Hi all.

Just to confirm, I don't know loonybird, although I am pretty sure I know who she is and came in around the time of the open day.

I don't employ anyone so she does not work for me.

Well, that done. If anyone is around Salisbury any time, feel free to pop in for a cuppa. pm me for full location but i'm on churchfields estate and open all weekend.

None, it's bike stuff, parts, clothing etc. not bikes.
