Have you considered crime?
No, not drug dealing or bank jobs, too high profile
it gets in the papers and to much hoo hah.

Try low key flogging of faulty goods on Gumtree
its cash in hand and when the victims report it
No one wants to fucking know and you're safe to continue
You'll find if Gumtree, the police and local trading standards are informed
or your scams, they're not interested.
Come, join this flourishing new market with other lying scumbags
and reap immediate cash rewards !!
All you need is some dodgy goods,a mobile phone, internet access and van

Yes, I got burned. The details are too tedious and its all my own stupid fault
for falling for it.

What is shocking is that while I know I wont see my money again,
when I tried to inform the powers that be of an ongoing scam on Gumtree
to help others to avoid these assholes, there was utter disinterest.

How can people do that?
What's the world coming to if we can't trust Gumtree ads?

Caveat emptor, due diligence and all that. Bought a kitchen off Gumtree recently, old Ikea freestanding stuff. They no longer sell it, bastard heavy gear and built surprisingly well for (relatively) cheap Swedish furniture. Paid peanuts, seller was helpful, more than happy over all.

Am I doing Gumtree wrong? Thinking

I bought my 1700-mile YBR off a guy who was leaving the country that week, needed a quick cash sale.

It was a minter and a really good deal. I HPI'd it, bought it, ran it for 2500 miles, sold it on to a guy in August, saw it being ridden through town the other night.

I think I broke Gumtree.

I'm not sure I look through gumtree and think stolen stolen stolen stolen and oh stolen.

Lots of bikes oops I lost the V5 or bike parts which I'd guess are from stripped down bikes.

But remember gumtree is owned by ebay which encourages crime and cuts out your local fence! So go figure.

In the 1950s a friend of mine bought an 'infallible fly killer' from a magazine.
Two wooden blocks arrived.
Instructions said "place fly on block 'A' and hit with block 'B'.

Being a total twat and ripped off is nothing new.

Is all about Marketing.

If you follow the instructions to the letter, the product would work as described Mr. Green

This way you get the illusion of choice, but they get your money either way.

There has been a scam running on Gumtree for at least 6 years, getting people to send a deposit via Western Union for property rentals. I know people who have been ripped-off on this - even after I had told them about it.

Gumtree know about it, and so do the Police - but nothing has been done.

I find the gumtree advert bars at the bottom of websites quite amusing, the ones that use your browsing data to personalise content.

Apparently I can buy my exact car, same registration in the photos and everything for £500 less than it was advertised, when I bought it in March.

Ad deleted ages ago, clicking banner brings up a search result in scumtree, they still use pics of my car to advertise.
