So I pull in to the bike bay at work, park up, get off, put helmet in Top Box and start walking away. Approx 10 steps later I hear one of those horrendous 'i've screwed up' crash noises...
I turn around to find my bike on the floor and another that went down as a result (worst part, don't care about me damaging my bike). The other bike sustained a broken LH mirror and clutch lever. Left a note apologising and offering to pay repairs, feel like a prick.
My bike looks like this:

I'm going to super glue the plastic back on the indicator as it is only cosmetic damage.
My question is - as the front fairing connections to the screen simply snapped off, what would the cheapest fix be? I'm thinking replace the LH mirror and accept that I will be riding with no screen for a while? ____________________ Current: Suzuki GSX650F (2010), Suzuki GSXR1000 K7, Suzuki GS250T (1980) currently restoring: Clicky.

So what happened?? Was the stand just not down correctly? Seems to have taken a long time to go over if so. ____________________ "Life is a sexually transmitted disease and the mortality rate is one hundred percent."

I'm assuming that's the case, it was fairly windy so if I hadn't extended the stand correctly and it was balanced it could have been a gust of wind that tipped the scales. ____________________ Current: Suzuki GSX650F (2010), Suzuki GSXR1000 K7, Suzuki GS250T (1980) currently restoring: Clicky.

Other bike was an almost mint Honda CBR600RR (I think), just spoke to the owner.
Bent Gear Pedal
Snapped LH Wing Mirror
Cracked Seat Cowl
Scratched Engine Case
Female owner, putting it in for it's first service next week and is going to ask for a quote to fix everything which i've offered to pay. ____________________ Current: Suzuki GSX650F (2010), Suzuki GSXR1000 K7, Suzuki GS250T (1980) currently restoring: Clicky.

If I were you I'd buy the parts off ebay or the likes and go fit them for her yourself......might get your hole
And it won't cost as much. ____________________ "Scooters are for men who want to ride motorcycles but prefer to feel the wind on their vaginas" |

Good on you for doing the right thing, but I agree that as long as the bike gets put back to its pre-smash condition there's no need to get mugged at main dealer prices.
Leave it in gear next time. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
