Dropped Bike

So I pull in to the bike bay at work, park up, get off, put helmet in Top Box and start walking away. Approx 10 steps later I hear one of those horrendous 'i've screwed up' crash noises...

I turn around to find my bike on the floor and another that went down as a result (worst part, don't care about me damaging my bike). The other bike sustained a broken LH mirror and clutch lever. Left a note apologising and offering to pay repairs, feel like a prick.

I'm going to super glue the plastic back on the indicator as it is only cosmetic damage.

My question is - as the front fairing connections to the screen simply snapped off, what would the cheapest fix be? I'm thinking replace the LH mirror and accept that I will be riding with no screen for a while?

So what happened?? Was the stand just not down correctly? Seems to have taken a long time to go over if so.

I'm assuming that's the case, it was fairly windy so if I hadn't extended the stand correctly and it was balanced it could have been a gust of wind that tipped the scales.

Tbh I do give mine a spot of oil at the pivot at least once a week, and make sure teh back of it isn't caked in dried up greasey chods of grime. Still don't always get a good, clean swing down to the maximum point though, even with that mollycoddling. Worth doing imo. Not saying you don't, just that - eh. You get me.

A bit late now, but whenever I put any bike on the side stand I drag in back and inch or 2 to make sure the stand has settled properly.

What was the other bike, plastics for your bike are quite common and can be had cheaply!

Other bike was an almost mint Honda CBR600RR (I think), just spoke to the owner.

Bent Gear Pedal
Snapped LH Wing Mirror
Cracked Seat Cowl
Scratched Engine Case

Female owner, putting it in for it's first service next week and is going to ask for a quote to fix everything which i've offered to pay.

Good on you for doing the right thing, but I agree that as long as the bike gets put back to its pre-smash condition there's no need to get mugged at main dealer prices.

So the bike is a Honda CBR600 FA 2013 and I'm struggling to find a replacement LH mirror. None on wemoto for the 2013 model, does anyone have any suggestions?

All very well saying you will buy the parts and fit them. If it was me I'd want that new bike, still under warranty, fixed at a main dealer.

I wouldn't be suprised if you changing engine casings is invalidating said warranty anyway.

New enough to only just be going in for it's first service? Let the insurance deal with it - that's why you pay for it - so you don't have to pay out yourself in these situations.

You wouldn't want to think you'd cause her any future warranty etc issues by fitting parts yourself.
