Introducing myself to the forum, have just purchased a
1989 Honda CG 125 BR-j. It is my first bike, never even sat on one before. I live in Kent so anyone from the Kent area could perhaps recommend some rides (not yet as the bike is'nt mot worthy!)
Have owned classic cars (72 Beetle, mk1 golf, mk2 golf) so am looking forward to working on it and turning it into something unique as its a little rough around the edges.

Already have a few electrical issues so will be heading over the lecy area soon and starting to ask what i can't find on the forum.

Hello and welcome, careful on the brakes and keep enough distance motorcycles need more space to stop especially drum brakes, have a fun Very Happy

Is lecy anywhere near Lydden Hill?

Let us know what you think of the CG once you had it out a few times. And like Roger said. Make sure you get your CBT course done before you do!

I have'nt done my cbt yet, wait wait, that's only because I can't ride the Cg yet anyway as its in pieces. Having got the bike home from Barnsley, I started it up at home to check it over and realised the electrics were a total mess, when you click the indicator over the head-light flashed Thumbs Up nice one. there's a fair amount of rust on the frame also the clocks didn't work. so i just took off everything that was junk, and now all i have left is a frame and an engine. the engines good though so there is that....

I will be booking my cbt when the bike is getting closer to going through an MOT.

Yes they are, head down towards SE Kent or across into Surrey/Sussex. Better and slightly more scenic Thumbs Up

Half the fun of rebuilds is trying to source that part you need for the money you have. Plus its nearly impossible to stick to a strict budget as things invariably end up costing you more than you think they might.

I guess thats why a cg is kinda of a good project when you have limited resources, as the parts dont cost much and theres alot of them about, being new or from bikes being broken. I'm from whitstable, have joined the SE riders page too now, so maybe someone can pop round and wire it all up for me as thats what i think im going to struggle with the most Mr. Green
