Just put the bike onto SORN for the first time over winter and I was wondering how I should go about preserving the battery for next year?
Haven't been using the bike much recently to be honest, and the battery is only a few weeks old, and since the cold night are closing in (this morning especially) was looking for the best way to avoid having to buy a new one come the spring.
Should I take it indoors, and wrap it up in a nice cozy blanket and sit in front of the fireplace on cold nights or will the trickle charger do just the same job of keeping it charged?
Any differences from trickle charging indoors (warmer) as apposed to in garage (sub zero temps during winter).
Cheers. |

In the past have put battery in garage or the extension (no heating in either ).
Put on accumate/optimate charge every 2 to 4 weeks.
Before take out of bike run it to dry exhaust. Then stuff oily rag up the pipe (s). I hear some people do stuff with cling film as well.
