Hi,
I have a Peugeot Speedfight 2 50cc AC 2005
It was fully standard bike but had the Technigas Silent Sport exhaust, untill the rust had eaten it away so I bought a new sports exhaust for it.
The bike was running fine but was feeling bit too rich after you hit 25mph. It was really bad made carb which had poor adjustments on it so Ive grabbed a fairly new Dellorto phbn 12 carburator from a Aprilia 50cc bike, it had Main jet 98, Idle 40 and power 45. I have read and the closes main jet I should start of is 54 with my settings.
I had to make an adapter for my inlet manifold for the new carb to fit on the bike without having any air leaks and it fits really well and its air tight, but Ive ended up having 2 tubes for the fuel pump so Ive stuck boost bottle on it just to have a use of it. Its all connected up correctly and have been out on the test drive, at first it was really hard to get it set up as soon it hits 15-20mph it bogs down really quick but the acceleration has improved massively compared to the standard carb. Ive tried every settings on it and still cannot get it correct.
Just to mention I have done a pressure test on my piston and it came out with 100psi/ 6Bar which is quite low Ive been told so new rings should be arriving soon, I had a standard air box and new air filter is also on the way. (so Im testing the bike with no air box).

Here is the carb Im using:

Main Jet 54
Idle Jet 40
Power Jet 45

I hope that is enough information for you to help me set up the bike for great performance.
Thanks

Well I can't help you with any of that, but I have to say it seems you're spending a crazy amount of time and money on a moped. Assuming you're sixteen y/o, why not just take the engine back to standard and save the money for your first 125?

Ive got a car and the moped Ive got is since I was 16 so theres not much to loose on it.
Its just something I want to try out new.

if the 98 jet was good enough for the aprilia 50 it should be close enough for the bike you have.

The jetting is not going to be directly comparable between the two carb, so what size works for the standard carb may not work for the new one.

If you are hitting a wall so to speak at 25 then chances are you are very lean high revs, put the jet in the new carb back to standard and try it again to see if it runs better.

I did that as well and the bike would not even move it revs bit higher but it will not move at all on full throttle.
Ive also tryed to move the pin around and did not make any difference.
