Sounds like the master cylinder reservoir return port might be blocked. Could be just a knackered master cylinder. I'd forget the slave seals and overhaul the master. Faulty slave seals would probably leak oil a the caliper. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

The FJ clutch is hard you may be able to get it sorted by bleeding the master cylinder first
Remove the hose connection Put lot cloth and plastic bags under the connection put your thumb or finger over the hole in the master cylinder ware a rubber glove if got assertiveness skin
Work the leaver slowly until l fluid comes out around you finger
Refit the hose and try again
In the trade I use a vacuum system to pull fluid though or a low pressure 4/8psi power system to push it either will do this in moments ____________________ Dave

I replaced the slave cylinder seals because the outer seal had distorted from exposure to the chain lube flung at it.

At the same time I stripped and cleaned the master cylinder, just to be on the safe side.If the outer seal of the piston arrangement is sound, then there should be little or no corrosion or scoring of the bore. Some say use a hone to clean up the bore, but if it is clean then just replace the seals as a kit.Try and use a genuine kit from Yamaha,as they do not cost much and the quality is assured,as against some pattern parts from chinkyland.Make sure that the push rod is clean and straight by rolling it on a sheet of glass or window.Clean any corrosion off with emery cloth and use fresh engine oil when you reinstall it,not grease.
If you wanted to ascertain if it is the master cylinder or not that is causing the problem, use the front brake master cylinder. It will only cost a few crush washers, which,if they are copper, can be reannealed and reused.
I use a master cylinder from a ZXR750R on my Exup, together with a braided steel hose, which helps to make the uprated clutch very light.

I cannot say that I have ever had a problem bleeding my clutch, even when the new clutch hose was installed. If anything it is easier than bleeding the front brakes ____________________ Just talk bikes. What else is there?
