So, obviously I am getting married which I had not made a massive announcement about. Which means I get to do a stag do.

The UK being so expensive for the price if 2 nights in a hotel I can be on the continent for 3 or 4 including flights so in my mind it kinda makes sense.

I am thinking Budapest as its cheap and cheap when you get there.

My uncle has said he isn't keen on Hungary due to the proximity to ISIS action... (This guy is a squadron leader in the air force) I think he is being mental and after some Google action can find nearly no evidence to support this claim from him.

What other ideas are out there? Needs to be cheap ish and where the £ is strong and they beer \food is cheap out there.

The dates concerned are weekend of 24th Jan 2015 so can't be a place that is on winter shut down.

Your combined experience and help will be appreciated.

Thumbs Up

Not had a chance to go properly, only visited the airport, but Belgrade is apparently a bit of a secret party town, secret as on it's cheap as hell and always a party going down. Bonus that the Serbian bitches are pretty hot!

I did think Moscow but requires a £40 visa and that is a fairly large extra expense for the group. Plus organising people to do that is not going to happen.

Brussels, lots of cheap drink around the central pedestrianised area, cheap to stay, cheap to get to and not so far to walk home when you wake up on the Sunday morning tied naked to a lamp post.

I thought it was £110 for a visa? Belgrade is a good shout if you want to avoid the cliched stag places. Of the popular ones I'd recommend Krakow - scenic, cheap and lots to do both culturally and for boozing.

Anywhere in Germany is a good bet too, and less likely to be crowded by Brits On Tour. I'm visiting Hamburg next month, the Reeperbahn brilliantly ominous.

30day tourist visa costs £25. Except you need a letter of invitation. Companies will do it all in for £32 letter of invite and visa.

TBH I'd forgotten about this because I've had a Russian Multiple entry business visa in my passport since forever.

Thanks very much for the combined help guys, keep em coming!

It's a shame about Moscow but after the £32 Visa plus the £9 delivery charge back on passport and Special Delivery sending its actually nearer £50. And a group of people just are not going to make that happen.

This would be by far my preferred location, however I may just do a trip with my good lady at some point next year instead.

Kiev is good, Prague is brilliant, (cheaper beer outside of the main square), Rotterdam is much better than Amsterdam IMO, Dublin is great but the beer is mega bucks, (I think it was around £6 a pint last month), Poland is pretty cool and as with a few of the others you can shoot huge machine guns if that floats your boat.
Budapest I didn't find great and the nightlife was very dodgy.

Have you thought about Vegas? 14 of us went for a stag do for 9 days, staying a Hooters and was £760 all in. Quite pricey in some respects, but considering it's Vegas I thought it was a good deal.

I have 13 nights at the Venetian booked for the honeymoon in Vegas so no need for the stag do too.

I think Prague seems like a popular location but is it not quite expensive when you are there?

Depends where you go. In the square I think it's still around £2.50 to £3 a pint, (some are more expensive) but if you go off the beaten track a little you can get £1-ish a pint. We found a place that was less than a £1 a pint and 'pence' for shots.

There's some great clubs too.

Riga's also a great place and cheap Very Happy

Budapest for you will be relatively cheap. Even the places that we consider expensive are cheap for you, so it's a good bet.

Every weekend there's lots of foreigners here on a stag do, who seem to like it a lot. If you do decide to come to Budapest, I would recommend you to check out some of the less known places as well, as the most popular ruin pubs and areas are getting a bit touristy - so they kinda lost their original appeal.

But Prague is great as well, tho that's a bit more expensive, but their beer is amazing Wink

Yes, but if you stay in Nurburg itself there is very little to do in terms of nightlife. As its up the mountains the weather can be shit or amazing but the roads are fantastic and it doesn't take long to get to places like Luxembourg.

Accommodation can be had fairly cheat at the ibis by The airport,
Includes free transfer to and form the airport as many times as you like, form there 7min tube ride drops you in the city centre.

Beer/pot can indeed be Shocked depending on the outlet

Bargain price Amsterdam hotel: https://www.quentinarrive.com/

Be warned... if you book the budget rooms then the bathroom might be on a different floor to your room. Which means if you wake in the night feeling like you're going to be sick, throwing up out of the window is your only option regardless of the fact you're on the 3rd floor. Laughing Laughing

One of the times I've been there the window catch meant the window wouldn't close so I had to fix that by getting a roll of gaffa tape. You do get some strange looks when at the supermarket with a group of people buying munchies junk food and you're buying a roll of gaffa tape and a fish.

Also, last time I was there I got a really good free room upgrade cos being on the ground floor meant that when smoking in the room the reception area was getting really smokey so they moved us to a very nice room that was the furthest away room from reception that they had available. Laughing

For cheaper cannabis weeds you can get on the free train to Haarlem. Not nearly as many coffeeshops but the prices are lower cos it's not full of tourists like Amsterdam is. The law used to be that having 25g of cannabis was allowed but since a couple of years ago it's been 5g. Not that I paid any attention to that but just so that you're aware.

Barneys coffeeshop is oarsum, last time I was there I had a tab. Laughing

Holidays to Amsterdam aren't cheap and I can get better weed in this country but the choice of weeds in Amsterdam is more than you'll find in this country unless you know some pretty dodgy people. Laughing

Nope not even once Laughing Whistle

Pretty good summary

I was a regular at la canna, have since started trying smaller cafés away from Grand Centraal and have found them cheaper, same goes for bars.

Also helps if you get a couple of bottles of spirit at the supermarket and give your self a head start at the hotel Middle Finger
