Clutch slip on new er6f.

So, two three months ago i got myself a new er6f. all was good.
about 1500 miles in i noticed a little clutch slip when i gave it a fistfull.
Took it back to the dealer and told them, a mechanic took it out.
Came back to say he redlined it in first and second and it was fine, and that maybe the bike was too fast for me. I left, baffled, that someone could even come out with this gibberish. Fast forward to this weekend, i had the misses on the back. on the motorway slightly uphill. decided to overtake a group of traffic, major slipping. currently at 2800 on the odo.

Now does anybody know if this falls under warranty, as in the booklet it says clutch, cables pads etc. are not covered, as they're consumables.

They can make any excuse they want about warranty but a 3 month old bike should have zero faults, take it back, demand they fix it.

If you have warranty then contact Kawasaki UK and complain.
A clutch should last more than 3k miles.
Can probably be adjusted out at the lever end of the cable, have a
play with the adjusters and see how you get on. It's easy enough
to do out and about without tools.
Aren't you more likely to get clutch slip in higher gears and from
low revs anyway? The mechanic doesn't sound all that sharp to me.

I'm taking it back Monday. Just dreading the shit they're no doubt going to give. Can see them just straight up saying consumable.

I did check the cable, had the required 1-2 mm slack. Asked teh mechanic to double check, who then told me it might help if i adjust the lever further out, not the sharpest.

Would you recommend contacting Kawasaki first or taking it back once more?

Cruise along at about 15mph, click up to top gear (6th?) and wind the throttle fully open. If the revs shoot up and the bike doesn't accelerate then the clutch is slipping.

I've tried that and it wont noticeably slip.
If i change up from 3,4,5 while doing more than 7.5k revs aggressively then it will.

This confuses me now, as you said it should do it from down low, but doesn't.

It does indeed do it clutchless, if anything it slips more.

Mmm, there may be trouble ahead.

If they do give it "that ain't 'ad fair use, that ain't," then next port of call is an independent garage. Worse case, pay them (less) to do it, then invoice the Kwak dealer.

Hopefully it won't come to that and it's something easy.

If they give stick about doing it under warranty, read up on the sales of goods act, especially the "fit for pupurpose", and see if that'll change their mind.

It might not work but worth a try.

That said it looks like there isn't any adjustment at the engine.
