Not that I agree with the violence by why did the old guy go after him?

What did he have to gain, it was a simple petrol theft, nobody got hurt, why get involved.

The biker was a cunt and I hope he will get caught.

But the car driver has hopefully learnt his lesson not to take justice into his own hands.

Dunno, but he looks like a courier, but he doesn't wear gloves. That should narrow it down a bit I'd guess.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Now we'll have to take helmets off everywhere.

Bikers across the land will be comparing themselves to burqa wearing women.

Exactly, he would have better off getting the reg number then call the police instead of pretending to be a policeman.

I might understand if he had grabbed someones handbag or kitten but petrol, really? The oil companies make trillions, why risk it to save their profits.

He must have stolen around £16 worth of fuel. He might have thought he did the pay by card, being a forgetful sod and what have ya. Why don't these garages also have rear facing cameras to get the plates there?

The old codger who admitted to stopping on the hard shoulder for "a word" should be charged for misuse of the hard shoulder too Razz

See _Iain_'s post for my feelings on it. Pick the story you're selling, report the 'facts' that fit it.

Sadly, this will likely result in us being further 'discriminated' against in that area. Sad

Most likely, round work (Heathrow) service stations are very anal about bikers not removing their lids, in view of this kind of twattery.

Whilst my local service stations are not faced by it... (For now)

There are one or two situations in which I might think about dispensing a bit of street justice, but someone having away with a tenner's worth of unleaded definitely isn't one of them.

Totally agree. If you are going to rob petrol at least do it in a big car that holds 40 gallons or some amount worth while. Wear a Burka and the jobs a gud un!

My understanding is that vans (sometimes stolen themselves) are the favourite tool for fuel theft. Slap foreign / fake / black marker modified plates on for the duration, job's a good 'un.

Thefts by helmeted bikers are so small as to be insignificant, with "lids off" policies being a massive over-reaction.

Of course everyone could have read the situation completely wrong....

Busy courier, lot on his mind, forgets to pay for petrol and rides off. Next thing he knows he's being attacked by a complete stranger for no apparent reason, so he decks him, rides off thinking "bloody loonie" and never gives it another thought.

I hate when they ask you to take your lid off. Got asked to get off the bike as well but I sit on the bike to level the tank. I originally selected pay at shop but changed to pay at pump so left my lid on. Otherwise I would have gone to another fuel station.

I take my helmet off when I go to pay but don't want to be faffing about before filling up. I would either have to hang it from the handlebars or stick it on the dirty fuel/oil stained floor.
