I needed a new photocard so I sent off of for one and it's come back with the Category A completed. And actually, my old license has it as well.

Gov.uk states:

Quote:
You can drive:

motorbikes with a power output more than 35kW or a power to weight ratio more than 0.2kW/kg
motor tricycles with a power output more than 15kW

I'm confused, does this mean I can actually ride something other than a 125?

I've done my full bike licence, so if I lost my pass certificate, I can't ride my bike?

Surely not, one you pass and send the certifikut to the doovla
the entitlement goes on the license and stays there.

Then again , the imbeciles over at the aforementioned government body are well known for fucking things up for unsuspecting motorists

I was going to say, I don't remember where my pass certificate is! Sent away to doovla obviously. Better be careful when renewing it...

Well this thread is potentially disconcerting.
I passed all tests a few days back, on passing the Mod 2 the examiner asked if I would like him to send off my Provisional for me.
Being a Noob I agreed. Doh!
Oddly he left the pass certs with me though, said the mod 2 one was my license to ride until the DVLA send the Gay Pride License? Smile

That is the correct procedure. It's the same with your car license, you can use your pass certificate as a license in the meantime.

That's right - it took DVLA exactly 2 weeks to update my licence from my mod2 pass day, I checked on the website daily. Getting them to do it all means you don't have to send off your pass certs.

https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-codes

79.3 means you can ride trikes, and that you passed your car test a few years back.

I did the same, let him send my license off and I still have all my pass certificates. Got my license back, no problem - nothing missing and all appropriate categories added...
