hey kids,
does anyone have a haynes manual or some sort of info on the duration and timing between the different suzuki 125 motors

im just wondering if they are all the same, or if one of them has a slightly longer duration on the inlet and exhaust lobes,

Gz changed in 04 I think, when they dropped the megaphone exhaust for a cylindrical one. Valve clearances piston ring clearences and all kinds of other internal specs changed, and about 2 horses were allegedly found. Would not be surprised if there were many many specification camshafts.

i thought as much but there doesnt seem to be much out there on them,

you can get "race" cams for the dr125s in the states and they are getting almost 20hp from them, but it looks like a pretty severe cam and i dont think it would idle particularly well.

i might see if i can find a cheap 02+ gz cam and compare it to the gs one

cheers

02 gz was the 10hp megaphone era, you might be better with an 04 or later, iirc the tolerance changes were similar to what one might achieve by blueprinting, as the excessive clearances were trimmed off.

Search, measure, post the end result, try to get a video of it if it blows up....
