Heard the first officer on scene was a lone female, if she zapped the shit out of him I don't blame her, taser's are supposed to be non-lethal though, so something 'interesting' may have happened! Might have been off his head on drugs (might explain why he ATE someone), racing heart, taser finished him off... sure we'll find out.

Horrific crime, don't care about the bloke being dead, and who knows he might have tried to attack the officer.

Unfortunately as tasers are meant to be non-lethal this will probably be used in the argument against them. Personally I think the police need something better than pepper spray.

Do you a) tell him he's arrested and escort him to the police station b) use the one day a year self defence training you've received and put him in a wrist lock, or c) taser the fecker and keep hold of the trigger until help arrives.

I'm fairly sure the type of taser the police use is a single use single shot thing where you can't hold the trigger. I think it discharges one charge on firing, and you can discharge one more charge if the target is not subdued. The image of a police officer holding the trigger until he died is more than likely inaccurate.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no police apologist but I think in this case the guy must have had a heart condition, or been off of his face on speed or something.
