Hi just joined the forum been on here before and got some good info and a few laughs, so I thought I would join the forum and contribute.
I have been riding around three years and i am currently without a bike but I will be looking to buy something in the coming months.
If this is supposed to be in new bikers section then please move but I couldn't see a pinned thread for new members.

Not sure what to get next, I've thought about a daytona 955i from 03 onwards or a rsv mille from early 00

Don't.
Not a fan of twins, but I'd take the Aprilia if I was forced to choose between the two.
The Triumph really doesn't seem to have anything going for it.

Hi and welcome Jonah, I've always been a bit scared of aprilia's they seem a bit fragile and highly strung bikes. Mind you there not bad looking bikes.

The early RSV aren't TOO bad looking. When they face-lifted them, they became pretty hideous to my mind.

My budget is 3k so I'm hoping that would get me a decent rsv mille
As for the triumph G there's not that many reviews they all say it's a real world sports bike or does that translate to bland?

£3k is lots of money.

There is plenty of bikes I would get for 3k... what type of riding you planning on?

The speed triples are nice they are worth considering.
I ride on twisty a and b roads go down to poole on a350 alot, Cheddar, Salisbury plain, I rarely go on the motorway.
Last bike I had was a xjr 1300 loved the torque and power delivery but the handling when pushed was too lazy, had a gsxr 750 srad before that
But I found it quite revvy.

What does 'real world' mean?
Bland, a bit heavy, but still with a pretty extreme riding position.
Speed triple makes a bit more sense, but still a bit 'meh'.

If you want a bland bike that's actually fast and reasonably sharp too, I'd go for the GSXR1000 as Paddy suggests.
May well be able to get a K3/k4 model for your £3k at this time of year.

Think I'll take a look at some gsxr 1000's and maybe the 02 r1.

GSXR1000 has noticeably more 'grunt' I'd say.

That money should get you an 04 R1 however and the ARE pretty, at least Smile.

True the 04 r1 is a better looking bike than the equivalent gsxr.
Maybe going japanese will give me more peace of mind, from what I've read the rsv ' s can be temperamental.

When you say face-lifted do you mean 2004+ models? I always thought they looked nice. Probably the only V-twin I ever considered to buy. The thing that put me off were issues with the clocks.

Butter face.
At least the clocks on this model don't look as stupid as the older models.

Rest of the bike isn't too bad. As evidenced by how hard it was to find a picture taken from the front - I suspect people's cameras mysteriously broke in other cases!

Not the best looking front, I admit that, but not the worst either judging by the look of other bikes of that era. Ducati 749/999 was not a looker surely.

That actually grew on me.
To be fair, Honda from 08 onwards have really got their 'front end ugly stick' sorted Smile.
