Looking at ebay at these 300 quid gaming machines, I've been out of the loop for years so have NO idea what I'm looking at.

Not afraid to build my own PC, have done builds in the past. Is something like this good?
https://goo.gl/md522D

Suspecting it's not, if I can get a better quality PC at the same price buying each individual part I'm game.

Help! Karma Thumbs Up

Didn't realise it was onboard but the benchmarks say it all, graphics performance is very poor regardless of whether it's onboard or dedicated. I would not buy an AMD for gaming myself, lagging behind Intel for so long.

What kind of performance are you expecting? Happy with modest graphics settings? Older games, newer games etc.

Would quite like to go for the i7, my current Novatech laptop is i5 and can play games like DayZ, Farcry 3 etc with no problems at all.

Mainly for DayZ (on a high graphics setting), would like to have a system that can run Watchdogs (my laptop can run it but not well enough). Doesn't have to be the latest dog bollocks tech, I'm on a budget Thumbs Up .

Chuck a half decent graphics card in any of these and you'll be alright.

Like the look of that, any suggestions on a graphics card? Considering my laptop has a GT555M 2gig card, will the performance be that much better?

I'm right in thinking it's like comparing apples and pears?

After alot of thought, I ended up buying a PS3 Laughing . Needed a TV for my room anyway, got the PS3 in mint condition along with 24 games, brand new Guitar Hero, 3 controllers (one never used) and a few other trinkets for £110. Considering I haven't had a console for 8 years it should keep me busy.

Keeping up with the times I know..

PC gamer at heart, being able to watch Takeshis Castle easily on my new 40" Samsung TV before work isn't bad though. Laughing .
