See if there are any local computer fairs, used to be a good place for a bargain back in the day.

I know a BCF member that will have a rig for sale very very soon, should be enough for an old dude to use.

I saw in asda you can get a laptop for just over £200. If it's just for web browsing and watches a few vids it should be fine.

There CAN be ok deals in pc world etc for returns. But do check it over first.

If it'd been a bit earlier, you might have been able to get Sunday delivery on Amazon, but no desktops left with that option.

Does it have to be a desktop?

Laptops are pretty decent value these days and you can still plug monitor keyboard and mouse in to them.

I would expect bigger tesco/asda to have some in stock if they're out - however, not if they're 'click and collect', of course.

Also, what about looking on ebay, gum tree etc?

Bet there's some people not too far away selling them that would be happy to sell for some cash tomorrow.

I'd look in gumtree/local ads too, also Freecycle
Ebay may have listings in the area ending tomorrow
I paid £25 for a Dell desktop
Its a dual core athlon64 with 4 Gb ram which does me just fine for everyday use and runs my dual boot XP and 7 very well
I assume your dad's not into high end games?

Depending on the spec and problem, your dads PC may just need fixing or upgrading rather than replacement
Whats wrong with it?
A PSU or new hdd can be bought easily enough

As above - you should be able to plug your existing monitor in to the laptop.
And WD Forte makes a good point about sorting the existing one.

I thought this one would do but, like I say, you have to order online at the nearest shop.

They have that in stock at Argos for the same price.

think the spec is the same.
